Better Speech and Swallow Corporation is owned and operated by Karen J. Sowers M.S.,CCC-SLP

Karen has worked as a speech-language pathologist for more than 14 years focusing on evaluation and treatment of adults and specializing in dysphagia. After mentoring speech therapists for most of her career and more recently managing a hospital program to include Physical Therapists, Occupational and Speech Therapists, she decided it was time to venture out on her own. She started Better Speech and Swallow Corp to primarily be able to help those who can’t get out and seek treatment secondary to physical/ medical limitations. Specializing in the area of Swallowing she holds a dual certification in both DPNS- Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation and Vital Stim®.

For several years now, Better Speech and Swallow has maintained a close working relationship with HomeCare Rehab, LLC.

HomeCare Rehab, LLC is a practice specializing in physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy that makes only home visits. This provides the convenience and benefit of receiving your therapy in your home. HomeCare Rehab serves Frederick, Washington, Montgomery and Carroll counties in Maryland.
